I am doing a timing cover gasket & front engine mount replacement (along with a dipstick repair, idler pulley, minor electrical repairs in the dash and relay valve for the lift axle, but those are all minor side issues) on a 03 Pete dump that is the most used truck in our small fleet. Our spare is down right now because our International needed a power divider/front carrier assembly and leaf spring repair, so this has gotta get done between this afternoon when it comes in and Monday AM when she goes back to work. I'm trying to get everything together in advance to make sure it goes smoothly and I don't get jammed up on the weekend unable to get an extra part or special tool, to which end I have a couple questions and hoped someone out there might be able to help. I've done this on International and Cat motors, but never a Cummins or Pete, so...

    1. What is the best crank pulley puller to use?

    2. The last person that worked on this motor left the jake disconnected. It's something on the engine side (they were doing the heads) - any thoughts on what it might be, or quick things to check. It's not critical that we fix this but it would be nice if I could.

    3. Any problems I might encounter or any general advice?

    Thanks!
