I'm currently on the "national dedicated" flex team, covering various dedicated accounts. I live in eastern PA and am looking to switch to a permanent dedicated account to get home every week.
These are the ones I'm looking at:
Lowes
Target
International Paper
I did Lowes for 3 weeks and it's easy. I don't mind nyc / long island, and I'm leaning towards that one since I'm not familiar with the other 2. Anyone have experience with them>
Any other ones anyone knows of that might be in my area?
Best dedicated accounts?

Lowes is #### good. There is a railhead transloading inside Hagerstown Md that will take you to Dover and over to Altoona or southwards daily. But you are going to be loading, tarping etc. And some of that wood is expensive asian woods that one rain drop on will ruin with tens of thousands of dollars in losses.
International Paper in Harrisburg would go as far to the south. Those are good if you have a sleeper.
If Memphis is not a problem McKesson would be another option depending on what they paid you. You pull a bunch of evenlopes out of a large box pick a load, grab it and go, they take it off (Million plus dollar controlled narcotics, medicines etc for Hospitals) at distribution centers, reload you with cardboard (YOu dont touch or enter these places, if you tried to enter you find yourself in a cage) and head back to memphis.
I would strongly suggest not entering memphis without a good blade in your boot or a handgun inside a concealed holster done properly. Make sure you have a license for that depending on which state youre out of. If it's maryland forget it. They are nazi just like NY and NJ. -
I have a relative that hauls for International Paper here in Ohio, via Fab Express, and they are super easy to deal with. Actually accommodating, he says. Appointment times are spot on, and loads are never heavy. Just my $0.02 ~

International paper gets me home every weekend, about 40-50 hours break during home time. I keep my truck at Carlisle OC, last summer I kept it at Fairness Hills, PA (North of Philly). I drive I-80 through PA a lot as we have alot of customers in NE part of country.

I'm on the International Paper account out of Kenton, OH. I think it's pretty good but I don't have much to compare it to. Pretty steady miles and a good dispatcher IMO who seems to understand what we deal with out here. The customer loads are almost always under 25k pounds. Going to the NE, you'll rarely have more than 20k. Plant to plant, you'll always be heavy. Theres downsides like anywhere but one of the bigger ones at least for me is that we haul food service paper, and paper isn't time sensitive. So pretty much every delivery is spent watching the reefer guys get first dibs on all the doors when you got there wayyy before them and its already long after your appointment time. I could give you more info if you have a specific question.
I ran with my trainer on the Target account out of Stuarts Draft, VA for a week. I obviously can't speak for the Target drivers since I don't work there but for the week that I did, it was 100% drop and hook and the appointment windows were pretty big. The guys I talked to seemed pretty happy there. I unfortunately know nothing about the Lowe's account.bmovers, Blondieone, audeygdad and 1 other person Thank this. -
