    I pull tanker local.

Haz pays the best probably. But unless you plan on hauling. It's not worth having. The only thing around here that I"m aware of that pays better would be oil. But I don't want to play in the mud and drive the same circle every day. And I'd probably have to start off working nights and lose my full weekends off.

I've had haz my whole cdl life. And the only time I've used it. Was to haul 30 lbs from Manasses to Boise. When I first started driving. Haven't used it since. Going on 18 years.

Oil, milk, food waste, gas, chemicals, come to my mind. I'm sure there's other types that are local and home every night.

Class A explosives pays the best but those companies generally don't hire rookies.

Tanker usually pays very well, especially haz-mat tanker. There are a couple of companies that hire new tanker drivers.

Heavy haul pays well but, again,it's hard for a newcomer to get started.

I saw some flatbeds this morning near Crescent Junction, UT hauling nuclear waste. I bet that pays well.

Having a good driving record is probably the best endorsement. I haul equipment for a local construction outfit right now. I know with some good experience under your belt, you get a local gig hauling equipment in my area making $30-35 an hour.

My brother is a career air force guy and has been trying to get me to drive for them hauling ordinance or stuff that goes BOOM. Thats what he does he works with bombs. I was surprised they dont do all that in house. He said They do use civilians for some stuff and the pay is considerable if you can get security clearance.
