Food service is back breaking work; driver unload by hand or on 2 wheeled cart. Most truckload companies the unloading is done by a "lumper service" that the shipper pays for. The driver never pays for this service; the shipper or trucking company will take care of the paperwork for this service.

Watkins pays 20 a stop for every stop. Ex. Load I'm on now has 14 stops on it. I'll make 280 just in stops. And I'll have them done in 2 days. I don't run a lot of miles. I make my money on stops. I usually only run 2200-2500 miles a week. 3000 is ALOT of miles for me. But I usually put off 25-30 stops total a week.
I leave with a load on Sunday night or Monday morning early. Deliver Monday and Tuesday, grab a backhaul back to the terminal Tuesday night/Wednesday. Grab another LTL load Wednesday afternoon and deliver Thursday and Friday. Grab my backhaul Friday night. Home late Friday early Saturday. I'm usually home Friday night to Sunday night Monday morning. Very seldom I might not get in till Saturday morning. Keep in mind all terminals operate differently. I'm out of MS and all we have is furniture around us. Prob 20 factories close by and we haul for all of them not counting the overseas stuff coming in in containers.
All terminals have different positions. That's why I say call and talk to a recruiter about what's in your area.

I know they haul furniture out of Sayreville but idk how much. And I think it's mostly wayfair. Which is box furniture mostly. That usually means more stops though per trailer.

We don't have a new electronics policy. Not sure what u mean. And yes we are on elogs. We use peoplenet. There have been some drivers quit since the Schneider deal. But there were drivers quitting before the deal too so idk if that's the case or not. But I will say this, the only changes we have incurred so far are they made us start fueling at pilot instead of loves. They closed down our shops in Missoula and Fontana and we started using their breakdown system. Which is a lot slower than ours was lol, but according to my safety manager they are working on it because Watkins guys have been complaining about having to sit and wait. And they are disabling the Bluetooth on our radios in the trucks. Which ain't no big deal cause the person on the phone can't hardly hear you anyway lol. Oh and we have access to the terminals. Me personally I've never been to one and probably will never have the chance because there are no Schneider facilities in the area I run every week. So idk if that's a big deal or not lol. Other than that, we still work for Watkins Shepard, trucks will still be red, or white in my case lol. And trailers all still have Watkins on them. They say they don't wanna rock the boat so we will see. But to me Schneider shouldn't be a deal breaker if you are looking for a good company. But that's my opinion.

It is my understanding that the new policy with Schneider buying them out is no electronics. No phones, no GPS, no MP3 players no nothing!
