Look at it this way, you can bypass all the other students in your class because you already have a cdl. While the other students are fretting over passing all the tests at the DMV, you're learning to log and getting road time. Go for it; you're way ahead of the game.

    Orlandodriver and WotansVolkman Thank this.

Probably more than just orientation; they still must qualify you for the diploma. Either way, it gets you on the road and gaining experience.

Yes I have a current CDL A with everything on it. My certificate is from a 320hr Community College program. The issue I have is that I haven't driven in 13 years and will need a refresher of some sort. I would pay to have this done, but don't want to do that just yet as I am not sure which companies would accept it. I would rather do a refresher through a company even if it means a commitment.

I will start applying in a few weeks time, but expect an uphill struggle because of how long it has been since I drove and of course the South Florida Black Hole effect.

I know just enough Spanish to order Media Noches when necessary.

I here you bro....you will need to do a refresher course...and it will all come back in a short time...

Go for it....there are many places for you to restart your driving career and make some fat checks.

Shifting shouldn't be a problem, I have driven 9 speed straight trucks off and on since I stopped "driving". Backing is going to be rusty and I haven't even seen a logbook since I was in school as I didn't keep one when I was driving local.

I have a list of about 30 companies to start applying to. If none of those pan out then I might have to consider paying to go through the full CDL course again.
