Im not saying Maverick is a bad company or doesnt pay good, im just saying there NOT the best.

Our Pay scale goes from .40cpm to .50cpm. Here are my numbers from my first 90 days here:

For a 90 Day Total of: 28,337 miles just at mile pay, not counting sign on bonus, Referal Bonuses, tarp Pay, etc thats $10,768.06, all the other stuff comes to $4,690 for a 90 Day Total of: $15,458.06!

I have consistantly run 3000-3500 miles every week i've been here with a reset every weekend.

We have 379's, paper logs, 9/10/18spds, 3 and 4 axle trucks, and 80% of our frieght is OD. You guys pull many 13 Axle trailers?

Thats just us, i know there are other companies that do what we do (heavy haul) like KEEN, Heavy, etc all of which have far better $$ and equipment then Maverick.

But outta the companies that hire new driver to pull flats, and get you home every weekend, im sure Maverick is pretty high up the list, but you cant compare the money to those of us that work for Heavy Haul Companies. There are some that pay more per mile then we get paid....

You heard wrong...at least in the heavy haul division (called "MSO" at Maverick)...I get quite a few 3,000+ mile weeks...and I'm at $10,207 so far this year (somewhere around 18,000 miles). More $$$, less work...

Do we pull 13 axles? No....but we get paid 57 cents/mile for 5 axles up to 92,000 lbs.

We get 47 cents/mile for empty and non-OD miles.

There are only 12 of us in MSO...

    A few of my loads...

Also a lot of tractors that are OD...

Its not about the number of axles...its about paydays.

American Trucker...I spoke to the recruiter where where you work on the phone and via emails (I still have them if you want me to show them here)...Even she agreed, they could not compare to what I make here. After all...I get almost as much running empty as what you guys get pulling those 13 axles.

I'm not trying to degrade your job, if you like it thats great...I'm just calling it what it is.

And Keen pays crap...they have the equipment, yes...but their pay sucks.

Maverick has Trail King RGN's...all pretty new, just like mine (pictured above)...the trucks do the job. I'm still in an old Schneider truck, but its making me $$$...

What I'm trying to say is this...

If I'm gonna pull 13 axles...its gonna cost them AT LEAST 75 cents/mile...

You do realize they (the company) are making in the neighborhood of probably $8-$10 per mile with those loads don't you?

I'm NOT a Maverick cheerleader...I just tell it like I see it, if you've read many of my posts...you'll see I tell the good and the bad...its well noted on this forum that I check into every possibility of a better job for me (that means more $$$)...so far, I just haven't found it and I don't really think there is anything better.

A trucking company is a trucking company is a trucking company...I know that all too well (been at this a while)...but there are a few that do make an effort to ensure that their drivers make a good living...Maverick is one, but not the only one.

yes i do and thats why they pay us $1500 to show up to orientation, pay for a hotel without a 2nd thought with just a phone call, take drivers out to lunch/dinner and pay for it etc. There are allot of other perks here. Theres no sitting at a terminal doing a 34 its a 3 secound phone call and you get a company paid for nice hotel. And $150/day for lay over/break down etc

I cant speak for our 4 axle truck drivers as far as pay, but the 3 that i've met are very happy here

and ya i know keen dont pay well, we have a ton of ex keen drivers here.
