Garmin Nuvi 200w $210 at Wal-Mart Wide screen with voice turn by turn.
You can get the latest updates when you register it for free. The 2009 updates are out.
I've used one for 4 weeks now, New Jersey to Seattle to LA Even loaned it to my son last weekend, for his road trip. No problems.
The narrow screen (3.5) version without voice...is $149 -
I like Mio or Garmin
I like the GPS units with the SiRFstar III chipset (which many have). It locks on fast and holds a signal well.
And Garmin stuff has saved my fat white butt in the airplane enough times for me to be a believer in their equipment.
I can deal without voice directions, but I like a big screen. -
Does anyone have one of these? They have units form 149.00 to 800.00. Also let me know if there are better ones out there. I would like to purchase one when I get my own truck in about 2 months.

I was woundering what is the best gps for trucks that are out there.Ones I seen warn you for low bridges and thing like that, but there about $600 bucks.Woundering if there anything cheper and for trucks are only.

I believe even the so-called truck specific GPSs are suspect as far as having all the required info, i.e., low bridges, no hazmat, no 53', etc.
