Hi all, I'm curious as to what is the best quality series 60 14L inframe kit ? I also think I remember reading somewhere that there is a set of rings available with a smaller ring end gap to reduce blowby.

We only use factory rebuild kits (OEM). We don't use any aftermarket overhaul kits.

I wouldn't be so concerned with blowby, but more with quality of liners and injectors.

Stick to OEM kits the only way. If you decrease end gap and have had your engine tuned when you increase cyl temps and pressures you risk sticking the rings and scoring the kits.

Yep, Aussie listen to everyone hear. A friend of mine decided to go after market. Well 30k later it was in Allison Det getting another engine overhaul with factory rebuild parts. Plus Det will warranty the engine. No warranty with after market, why do you think this is so? Good luck

Thanks everyone , it's good to get your views. I normally use PAI kits for cummins, but I realise S60 are not your typical engine hence my question.

You get what you pay for. Detroit does have picture comparisons showing after market parts failing. Many are made over seas. Sure, it may run for awhile, but look at your friend, 30k later and getting an over haul again.
