I know how tough it is to get affordable insurance when you're just starting out with new authority. Rates are sky-high, companies ask for crazy down payments, and some brokers won’t even give you a quote without 3+ years in business. Been there.
I’ve been helping truckers (O/O and fleets) all across the U.S. get insured — even with brand new DOT numbers. Here’s what I’ve learned:
✅ A few carriers WILL work with new authority — you just need to know where to look.
✅ You don’t always need to pay 30–40% down. Payment plans exist.
✅ If you’re driving under your own MC, liability + cargo is the minimum, but physical damage and NTL can be crucial too.
✅ Keep your MVR and loss history clean — it saves you thousands.
✅ Multi-truck fleets (5+) may actually get better rates if structured properly.
I’ve helped guys with:
1–2 trucks (hotshots, semis, box trucks)
10+ fleet units
Intermodal & UIAA coverage
High-risk or lapse in coverage
Auto + cargo + general liability combos
If you're struggling to get a decent quote, drop a comment, DM me or write me an email - paul@insurancefranco.com. I’ll share what carriers are working right now and what you can do to lower your monthly cost. Let’s get you rolling without overpaying.
