Sapp Brothers in Clearfield, PA is a good old school "truckers" truck stop. Buffet is top notch. Truck World in Hubbard, OH. also. That place is always good for a laugh.
Love Sandfords! I’d always park at the Sinclair just south of downtown Cheyenne and get a $10 cab ride in to Sanford’s and back, Great conversations and good people. Plus the Sinclair doesn’t charge and they always had spots open. (41.1175490, -104.8032447)
Sapp Bros in Salt Lake City do you mean? Didn't know they had one in Denver. (Thought all of their locations were along I-80.) The one in SLC used to be cool but I stopped in there recently within the past month and it's just another overcrowded poop show in a crumby part of town. Hard pass. The stops further north up 15 are tolerable.
Little America is kind of overrated IMO. They don't even have a proper sit down restaurant now. It's kitchy being out in the middle of nowhere but I like the Sinclair in Sinclair if I need fuel in WY. Always a good tank of fuel being right next to the refinery. Kind of a dumpy place but you see a lot of guys with their big rides pulling in and out of that place.
Pilot, Lebanon Junction KY. Pilot you say? Indeed. Little Rick's and a liquor store next door. Texas Rose, Wilmer TX, just south of Dallas on 45 I think. Technically not a truck stop, but a really good place to park.
Before I started driving I had no idea how much of this job revolves around figuring out where to park...a reliable, safe place is worth its weight in gold. Or at least worth mentioning in here.
