Yes, FFE does accept outside schools CDL's.
Our terminal in Denver is hiring for local, regional and OTR.
KoolShots also works out of our Denver terminal too. You don't need a CDL for them and they train you. They are box trucks and you work local.
I would be happy to answer any questions you have.Last edited: Dec 16, 2020

College doesn't determine where you end up, its mainly a starting point. To see if you finish something you start, to see if you can adapt and improvise, and some basic starting knowledge thrown in. The rest is up to you. 23 is about the age to "man up". No more kids excuses. Finish what you started.
How much time and $$ do you have already have invested in getting a college degree? What fields would your degree(s) be in? (and please Lord, don't answer "Philosophy" or "Ancient Greek History".)
If you do immediately do the CDL thing, are you gonna be somewhere else in a year or two saying "I was almost a real truck driver but now I want to...." ?
I'm just a dumb truck driver. But I finished college 9 years after I started, and it was hard to finish. But it led to different things that I would never had a shot at, without the degree. Lots more $$ and benefits and experiences than driving a truck. And now, much later, I'm a truck driver ( with memories).

Hey everybody,
Thank you so much for all of the replies I’ve received! I really do appreciate all of the input. It has been an extremely busy week at my office, and my fiancé also has had to do some treatment this week. Tonight when I get home, I will try to respond to everybody who asked me a question or whatnot. To answer a few immediate questions:
- I live about an hour-and-a-half from Denver, but I am not against the idea of travelling for a paid program. My fiancé can get transport to her treatments, and we both understand this as an opportunity for our future.
- I have been considering the school in Keenesburg. I did not receive any correspondence from ODFL, and so I plan to apply at Mister P, and possibly Swift and Jim Palmer - I will also be applying for assistance at the Keenesburg school.
- The reason I have not finished school is partially due to personal philosophy on college, but also because I am not passionate about the things I used to be. Getting into adulthood has made me a bit jaded, and I no longer care about I.T. like I used to. I am not as smart as I think I am, you’re right. I guess I just don’t like school - for a monotony of reasons.
About to go to work, but I will send out some more responses once I am home for the weekend. If anybody has any context on Mister P and Jim Palmer, that’d be super! I know Swift is an option - I also know it’s very hit-and-miss with reviews. If anybody could also provide some context on getting specialty endorsements through work-programs, that’d be awesome, too! I do not know if there are any companies willing to pay for things like Hazmat after you’ve worked with them a while. There is a CDL school here in town (that charges an obtuse amount of money), and they can provide a Hazmat and whatnot. They do so for an exorbitant price, however... So I would like to avoid that in the future if at all possible. Again, thanks everyone!!! -
Here's a local job in Denver that hires new cdl school grads.
Need tanker and hazmat endorsements.
Graduate from approved cdl school or have 2 yrs. experience.
Several drivers on this forum went there at cdl school graduation.
