very true, i have a very bad habit of trying to plan way too far into the future, i saw one video on youtube where the guy said to go to some orientaitons before you go to school to get a good idea what would be a good company to decide on. i thought that was a really good point, not to sure which one to go with flatbed or van, i have read quiet abit on both, really doesnt bother me with the extra work flatbeds require (tarping, strapping, etc) it seems harder to find the flatbed companies out there.basically i only have my computer with me, we are just sitting in a anchorage so i do a lot of looking. i noticed alot of folks saying find the local medium sized company that they pay pretty good. only problem is i havent been to cdl school yet and the fact most are looking for 1-3 years OTR experience. Im kind of looking forward to the OTR. but once again thank you everyone for the advice

If you are wanting to buy some tools, Lowe's is having a Black Friday sale with 50-60% off many Kobalt hand tools.

    I'm gonna be there. :)

I wouldn't get in no hurry stocking a truck. It takes time. Your first investment should be a CB as many customers use them. You might work for a company with nailed and blocked loads, so a hammer and crowbar are handy. Then you might want a basic tool set for little stuff. Alot of that stuff you can find in a pawnshop too. I like haggling prices down. Usually they'll drop the price down.

thermo coolers are garbage. i have a 3 cubic foot in my tractor. i had one of those black and decker ones from walmart, darn thing died 1 month out of warranty so i got another one. it died in a month. i got the money back and got a better model for half the money on craigslist.

i can now take milk and cheese and lunchmeats with me and not worry about them going bad. my fridge is laid out pretty average. to give you an idea of the inside space, i can fit 6 unopened 12 packs, 2 on each level. in the door, i have 2 trays that can hold 8 apples or oranges each or 3 canned drinks if you prefer, and in the door dispense, 6 more drinks. and there is a slot for milk, and it holds 2 half gallons. and it has the freezer compartment that you can fit probably 6 items the size of one of the lunchables.

i am waiting on the right size microwave to be on sale, and i will have that in there as well, and my food cost will drop even further as i will be able to heat frozen food then. my inverter is a 875 cobra, 1600 watts peak so yeah i can have a microwave too. the TV and game system is on its own inverter.

What frig do you have? I've been looking and needing to find one. I know the wally-world ones are junk. My brother went through a couple of them, and told me to say away from them.
