I have a freightliner century. This thing lacks insulation and its double bunk and i am also with my wife. But sorry i mean at day time it keeps it comfortable but not ice cold. At night it does.

Hello . I also thought putting a generator on my truck and use a window ac. Is it safe in hot weather. I am afraid it might catch a fire n hot day.

The only way it'll catch fire is if you have a fuel leak

Trucks catch fire all the time, I'll bet less than 1% are from a generator.
99% electrical. Bad service, and bad inverter installation I'd bet top the list.

I’ll have to take one someday.. lolol. I’m still using my cardboard contraption and duct tape to divert air to the sleeper. #### thing works good and I forgot my other nicer one I put together.

‘update… been running through Utah and back through Arizona and not NM since Saturday. It is hot. I stop was104 when I parked. Keep me comfortable.

I bought $30 in fuel for the Gen when I left Texas. Gen is on its second tank. Have enough fuel for tomorrow night also then I should be home. So $30 to stay cool is cheaper than idling all night in this weather so I don’t care if I’m not that cool… lolol

Maybe two years ago it wasn't cool, but these days? Anyone idling away $40 in diesel every night while you sip five bucks worth of gas is crazy if they're not a little jealous.
