I tried two different stand up models. This window unit cools better than both. But… I think I have a unicorn window unit. This #### thing for a 5k just kills it. I am amazed.

    Yours definitely looks better! Lol

honestly it’s not even about fuel, vibration, there’s always that one rattle I can’t find, and that wonderful red head under the hood that tends to drool on long idles, not a lot, just enough to piss me off, then same red head idles like a red head and has that random skip that one time at 1:37 am and wakes me up from a dead sleep because obviously my engine is about to explode, etc

I ran the extension cord down. The rail to the back so all i have to do is pull the gen out of the trailer toolbox and stick the discharge in the window, when the gen runs out of gas it’s time to go to work, I used a 50” cord so I can loop it up behind the lights panel and run it to the back of the trailer as well so I don’t poison the guy next to me with co2, loop it up

Set at 64* last night was 76 with 100% humidity and a dew Point of 73 and I woke up cold this morning…

How many BTu is that ac unit? What generator do you run? How long will it run on a tank?

10 or 12k btu, harbor freight 2000 watt gen, 5-6 hours on a tank without the extended run kit, top it off before bed and when it runs out it’s time to get up and go to work

I just worry about theft and fumes. I bought a cm detector because of the popularity of these gens and no one wants a POS old rigblaster apu off the rig.

thats why I went with a 50’ cord so I can go to the back of the trailer or to the front bumper to try to keep it away from cabs

Lololol, so, one day I was in Tucson facing into the sun and and it was cooking. I got tired of the noisy fan I put up to blow cool air back to the sleeper and decided to construct an air distribution box out of a crapped out Amazon box I had in the sleeper. A few pieces of gorilla tape and viola… bam!!! Air directed straight back to bunk and #### near freeze you out.

It now has about 1/2 roll of gorilla tape on it from taping it up and taking it down but it still works. The blue key holder is there to hold the weary and wilted box up to the proper position to divert air exactly where I want it.

I can not tell you want a different it makes. I am right now in 100° eastern New Mexico and I just leave the truck idle with AC for 1/2 or so and it chills it out perfectly.

I promise y’all I made on out of plastic I just have to remember to bring it.

1 tank last 2 nights with this lil 5k window unit. My gen is mounted on trailer half way down. Never and issue even if someone noses in next to me.
