but I-40 has hills

The problem with 8 is you get into 10 near Tuscon, then you still have to get north to 40. Above Phoenix you have a mountain range that is pretty formidable. If you went into Texas you will still have to go to roughly Weatherford split then Fort Worth and work up to Oklahoma city etc etc etc etc etc.

Your over thinking it now...pick a route the southern route less hills by far....but longer... 8 to 10 to 20 to 30to 40 to 55 to 70.... -
check i40 to memphis to us51north to julian carrol purchase pkwy in ky. u go i55n & fight stank louis traffic. try cuttin over to i57 into southern il few weeks ago, contruction mess between i24 and marion. that pkwy runs into i24 then catch i69 north straight to indy. there is const where i69 ends for bout 20 miles but never was to bad. jmo
