So we have officially decided to move. I will be buying my own truck and starting my own authority when we do. We live in CO and have narrowed down our choices to 3 states. OK, KS, and MO. Would any of these offer any advantages for an o/o? It seems like OK would have some cheaper fuel prices.

What type of trucking are you wanting to do? Doesn’t seem like those 3 states are a hot bed for your typical van or reefer.

No but cheap to live. I can buy a truck and trailer cash, won’t have to finance anything. Looking into reefer stuff.

Indiana has lots of low cost of living area. Not sure how you could go wrong near the cross roads of America.

I would be down. Indiana was +16 Trump. Problem is getting my wife away from CO. She wants to move, just not too far lol.

Oh yeah, big time Trump country.

Id say if your gonna move, might as well make it worth your while where you can make a lot of money and be successful. Fly back home or take a load west to CO if homesick.

Edit: I moved a couple miles recently to a new house and my neighbor stopped by and in a roundabout way was trying to figure out if I was a lib or not. lmao. Come to find out he’s a local leader of the Republican Party. :D

Haha nice. Yeah we wanna go to a red state definitely. CO has been becoming CA for a while now. We live in a small town so it’s not so bad but I work in Denver which is…ugh. And my company is going super woke. I’ve just had it here. Wife is sick of it too and wants a better place to raise our kids. She has just lived here her whole life so going too far scares her.

Kind of a sad state of affairs if the biggest issue your new neighbor was trying to figure out is what team you voted for.. I can't imagine living next to someone who worried about that so much...

Insurance rates in MO are cheap.. I dunno about OK or KS. I was personally looking at maybe relocating to MO simply because my LLC is from MO and when I got my original insurance quote it was half the price in MO as it was in Florida. On the flip side.. There is a lot of big trucking outfits out there already who have a lot of the outbound freight tied up..(edit I guess you could base around St Louis as well in MO)

If I were to do MO or even KS it would have to be around Kansas City.. It seems that's where the most spot market freight is for those two. If OK, I'd have to be in Oklahoma City or maybe between it and Tusla. (edit I guess you could base around St Louis as well in MO)

Yeah we want to be in a small town but I figured we would need to live within a couple hours of a big city for loads.
