I agree, I work for Star Tribune on weekends, and its been an absolute pleasure.
Not having to really worry too much about slipping and falling getting in and out of the truck all night long.

    Stay put.
Atlanta is the major hub in the southeast.
You know if you die and go to heaven you still have to change planes in Atlanta.
Your in a great place for trucking. Old old timers will remember that "brownie trucking" pretty much made Atlanta the trucking area it is now.

I'd be a pretty happy trucker shuttling between St. Louis and Atlanta regularly, so long as I don't have to fuel in GA. I really don't care for the Carolinas, or Alabama, though. I left Charleston yesterday on 26 and by the time I hit the gap I was ready to blow my brains out from bad fuel mileage... I don't see mileage that bad anywhere else in the country.

There is also a lot of local work around Atlanta . Check with trailer repair companies , food service companies , city and state jobs and monster.com .

We were thinking about relocating but from this, it is looking like Georgia is going to be a good place to stay for jobs. We might check out TN too. We just sort of wanted somewhere a little colder (some snow in winter) and with less crime and traffic (exactly what LSAgentOZR said!). Our son is still little enough that relocating wouldn't be a big deal at this point so we're trying to make a decision.

if TN; I would guess Nashville. But what you get here are opinions. Select a good handfull of outfits you would want to work for. Reasearch their locations. Pick the city that has the most promise.

I can't attest to where the trucking jobs are but TN is a wonderful and beautiful place to live.

I was born and raised in the mountains.... about 15 minutues rorm the Smokey Mountains.. I don't think you can go wrong. It's God's country for sure.
