Have a quick question. I'm looking for the best way to break into truck driving in Arizona. I have talked to AIT, Southwest, and HDS (which is DSW Trucking) schools. They all seem to be attached to Swift. DSW seems just to be another arm of Swift. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The best way to break into truck driving in Arizona is to hang out on I-40 outside of Flagstaff with a hammer. When a truck drives by, jump on the passenger side running board, then hit the window with the hammer, pull open the lock and open the door. Easy as pie to break in that way...

Seriously, for newbies (especially in this economy), just get on with one of the training companies that will hire you. Really makes no difference as to which one. Just get your year in, then you can be more selective.

DSW is a small fleet leased to Swift, pulling Swift trailers/freight. Go to a commuity college if you can for truck training. Cheaper tuition and more one-on-one training. The one here in Kingman has 40 hours behind the wheel training.
