what is the best way to Find an Owner-Driver of a tractor unit for a small one-time job?
I have two 40' trailers in the Marlborough, MA area that I'd like to have moved. I don't yet know the distance of the move, but it is likely to be a distance somewhere between 20 and 100 miles?
In the past, I've driven past houses that seem to have tractor units parked in the driveways, so I'm guessing that those might be available for small jobs. I'd like to find someone who owns his own tractor and hires himself and his tractor out for small jobs and works out of his house.
Not sure how I would go about finding people like that.

Farms usually have a tractor here and there for this and that, Im pretty sure you can come to terms on whatever money the owner wants to move two trailers and make it happen. Particulary if its within 120 air miles.
Or you can go rent a tractor yourself if you have a Class A with airbrakes and move them yourself. -
i would go to a nearest truck stop and talk to owner operators. if you bargan right you should be able to find what you're looking for. Good luck.
