    Sorry, having trouble posting a link from my tablet....It is "Trans Union Truck Driving School"

    Their website has a page with all the loan/grant options.

    Your "advice" is not helpful, imo. He's looking for a way to grow his future, not a critique of the shortcomings of borrowing. Besides, borrowing at high interest might be preferable if it lands you a good job with a future.
    However, I do agree with you that Trump University is an example of pure thievery.

    This is about exactly right. However, if you do pass, just make sure that you go to a cdl school that has no contract afterwards and go work for a different company that has tuition reimbursement. If you're interested, check out the first thread that I posted on this site, it's called swift academy Richmond or something like that. It's precisely what I did. Got my cdl and haven't paid a penny for it and I haven't worked for swift a day in my life

    @quatto

    Actually, my advice is VERY helpful...

    There are other avenues, if you are creative, to minimize the cost of getting a CDL.....just as there's many ways to skin a cat...

    If he's curious enough, or smart he can read in between the lines

    What is this world coming to. A man does not want to pay for his own education! Through tuition reimbursement? Asked what rip off means, also asked for a better option to be presented (if not welfare).
    Still waiting.

    Already answered that part....

    The current cost of getting a CDL needs to come down. The training time does not equate to the rates charged....but, suckers are always sold along the lines of ..."you gonna make lots of $$ with that CDL..."

    Worse part is that WIA & VA gets jacked by these schools. Thats why they want you to prove you are "a displaced worker" or a vet, so they can milk the system.

    Oh! Okay. The rip off is that one has to pay for his own education. Got it.
