You might also look at construction and farm equipment dealers. many of them haul and deliver the equipment they sell and service.
I had two different friends went to work pulling lowboys for the john deere dealer in fairbanks, and for over a year they burn't the highway up between Alaska and the manufacturer.
Best way to get into oversize hauling??

Whats up Brother? I'm STILL laid off from the union, but luckily my boss from my previous job hooked me up with my old job again. I've been putting my resume out and have cold-called a few outfits. I have a road test coming up early this week for an excavation company that does site development. The ops guy sounds excited to bring me in and I'm confident I can land the gig. I just hope that they're offering good earning potential for me to make the move. I did tell them that I've only done back hoes and skid steers and the ops guy said if I can haul those then I can do all the other stuff, too. In the meantime, I've been watching vids on landolls and lowboys, since I've just been working with tag alongs up to this point. They dont seem that difficult to work with. The newer landolls are really easy operation.ncmickey, Fold_Moiler and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

If in TX get on with this company and start from the ground floor and if you survive to become one of the top drivers you'll have it made.
These guys haul out of one of our customers.

I keep looking at that rig and wondering how you even take off-ramps in that thing! The turning radius has got to be huge. You def aint taking that thing to nyc or boston, thats for dang sure lol.FlaSwampRat and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

Funny you say that.
The other day when I was heading to work there was a really long pre formed piece of concrete being towed up 60 (no trailer, hooked at 5th wheel and had a dolly type thing under the rear of it). When they went to get on 75N they couldn't make the turn because of the construction going on. I never knew this but they were able to stop the truck and steer the dolly at the back to get it around the turn, it was really cool to watch.D.Tibbitt, BigDog Trucker, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Indeed. Operated by remote.
Some of the dollys/trucks have a little cab area for the rear driver not so similar to the old fire hook and ladder trucks.
You can see the cradle that pivots under the tanks legs.
Couple more shots.

I'm thinking pusher truck as well.
That is one serious move and several hours of tie down if not a day involved.
