The last couple of days I've had my first experience of long distance driving with bad weather. Trying to get home in Colorado from near Atlanta. My phone would give me the local weather forecast, but that wouldn't help when I'm going to be a hundred miles down the interstate. Every hour or so I'd check the weather band on the radio to see what it was predicting. What I'd really like is to be able to see the projected weather conditions along several hundred miles of a particular interstate. Is there an app for this? Or perhaps a web page?
I made it safely but I have to leave Monday afternoon for Salem OR and I'd like to get as much info on what to look forward to on the way.
Best way to get weather information along the route

Go to weather.gov ... you can check the 5 day forecast anywhere in the country. This time of the year I never take a load without checking it first.

Weather channel app. Scroll down on current weather screen far enough and there will be a "road conditions" section. Click that and it gives a radar view of the area (zoom as needed) where you can see the current road conditions radar and play what's been happening in the last few hours. Different color codes on top for wind, fog, rain, (not sure what blue is) snow and ice. It's ridiculously useful.
Example of what my area looks like right now.
