I'm sorry, but 60 in a 30? In a CMV? Accepting responsibility is one thing, and I commend you for that. But really, man....twice the limit? What the hell were you thinking?

That's going to leave a mark.................for sometime. Maybe he was a sleep because that's about the only reason it should ever happen.

you are lucky you didn't get put in cuffs.... If you want to drive any longer then fight the speeding aspect of the ticket. All the towns/states/etc want is the money... You may have to spend a little, but it will be worth it for more than just commercial aspects. This will have a far reaching effect on your personal side with insurance hassles, etc.

Do you mind if I ask where in NV you received the ticket? Near what city and in what county? It might be worth your trip to court and give your very honest appeal and explanation why you were speeding that much over the speed limit. If you run across the right judge, he may work with you. Just the fact that you took the time and expense to travel all the way back to NV may help your case. Reason I know? I know a judge in a small town in NV that tries to be sympathetic towards honest hard working truckers. But if you got the speeding ticket in a construction zone or school zone, forget it about it. You might be SOL. Good luck to you.

And word of advice on the speeding thing. Of all the cops, troopers, sheriffs I've known and talked to, they normally don't bother anybody if your within 5 over the posted speed limit. I've even heard CHiPpers say that they normally don't bother rigs for doing 65 or under in CA. That's where I try to keep my speeds. Just not worth driving that much over the limit anymore.

Oh yeah..... 60 in a 30 is a tough one to swallow though

Yeah I got a ticket last year on thanksgiving in my personal car I was not a CDL Holder at the time and I was not thinking about driving until now. I now find myself about to graduate from trucking school in September and with this 15 over I am grounded for three years until it drops off. I was also giving a speeding ticket not reckless personally I think that it is bull s** that company's look at it as something it is not. The charge is what it is a reckless is reckless DUI is DUI you can 't say well I look at it like this or that ...that is bull #### but our great government at work again. We are all professional drivers and there are some things that we will do in our cars or bikes not in trucks and we know the difference...but then again no one cares what I think..LOL I Digress

every ticket I've went to court on was paid and off my record. I just paid an 18 over. $240 but my record is clear. You might get lucky with a lawyer but I wouldn't give him my money too. Lawyers take your money just like the county cops do. The judge will hear your side and he knows how crooked his court system is. You can always appeal, then buy a lawyer if the judge don't cooperate

Just curious I've now gotten quotes from $400 up to $2500 for various options. Any one have any experience with Legal Shield or Truckers Voice in Court. the two attorneys i spoke with by offered to accept the case, one for $750 and the other for $2500. Any thoughts?
