    Hey all.

We're starting to pull containers with placards on it. These are usually IMPORTS so they come placarded already from the rail yards. The downside is... how in the hell do you get these off! I take about 30 minutes to 45 minutes to remove them and the shipper is done in 15 minutes unloading the container. Sad, lol.

I am using the torch gun way... but I am finding this highly ineffective as I am nearly taking 45 minutes removing all 4 sides on the container. Am I doing something wrong? They are stuck so good to the container.. they must of been glued, super adhesived and god knows what else applied before placarding them.

I have done alot of research and people are saying Goo Gone is the way to go. Correct or incorrect? Any other methods?

Don't remove the backings and start using duct tape on all 4 sides of the placards making sure none of the markings is covered. The longer the placards on trailer the harder they are to come off.Try a unitity knife.

That's the problem, he gets them already placarded and you know those port guys aren't going to take the time to do all that.

I know all too well about trying to remove placards,I use to get so mad at my company and it wasn't even their fault, lol. But since I didn't have any drivers to yell at my dispatcher was the next best thing, lol. When I would see a driver from my company placarding his trailer I would give him a lesson on the correct way, lol.Told my dispatcher a few times to get your ### out here and remove the placards when its like 25 below and windy.

Try telling the guy in Guandong, China about how to put placards on. Your really lucky they have the right ones on for the product in the container. Those may have been on there for 30 - 45 days, out in the hot tropical sun, so they are really stuck on.
I use Goo-Gone in a spray bottle. Seems to unstick them. After you get a corner started to peel, just spray behind and slowly peel.
