Driving a bus has actually crossed my mind. I'm not closing any doors but I need to look into it to see if I would have a shot at getting hired by a company.

I even thought of getting a passenger van with a wheelchair lift and doing medical transport for assisted living and nursing homes. It would take a while to get that rolling with contracts and I don't know how competition is out there, plus I need to get money coming in ASAP.

Buy a dump truck, that's what my dad did, and he now has several trucks and a flourishing business. You will stay local and be home every night. I say keep working for yourself, because the felony, as you are finding out, will make it hard for you.

Thanks for the advice Guitarfool. Can you give me any insight on how a dump truck get loads on a consistant basis. Load boards? Lease out to a local company - but then that's back to the felony problem again.

Any help would be of help.

I know for a fact that Fedex's insurance counts it as 6 months. They want 1 year OTR experience or 6 months plus an accredited driving school. But I think the experience has to be within last 3 years tho.
