Years ago i worked for Tired Sick Mistreated Truckers (TSMT) and went into all sorts of places (military bases, ammo plants, ports, and so on) without ever having one. There is to much B.S let alone the expense for a piece of plastic. Kinda like the Federal license star on ones drivers license is suppose to be such a help, Not

Mines in the sleeve on the lanyard. I keep it in the overhead compartment.
I switched companies (it’s required for whom I work for). I’ve used it a few times since I acquired it about 2 months ago.
I keep the key code in my wallet (which I don’t carry around regularly), haven’t needed that yet.

I could have saved money when I got my hazmat, but didn’t think I would need it, go figure.

Delivered to Ft. Carson today, handed the MP both my license and TWIC, he actually scanned both of them in the booth to make sure they were valid, he then scanned the bar code on the TWIC card to open the gate for me before handing both back.

    9417 Thanks this.

I went through this Twic requirement Krap many years ago holding a Captains license for 20 years. I held my captains license for recreational purposes not commercial.

Didn't matter I needed the clearance. Pretty sure I wasn't going to Strap a bomb onto some Bratty kid and parasail them into some port of entry.

    Morons.

Don't the seaports use another card, rather than TWIC, due to the fraud?

Perfect example. Thanks very much for sharing.

Before trucking, working customer service, I was 11 Bravo. So I'm quite comfortable in such places. I still do my daily pt and keep my hair military short. It's a niche within trucking I'm looking into.

And it amuses me to no end when some still cling to the notion, "well, I hardly used my twic, so it must be a waste for everyone" - when the original post was about HOW to store the card.
