Why is it that EVERY place I go to that was formerly Bethlehem steel take forever to unload you and is a general crap hole filled with lazy bums?

Burns Harbor IN is now a Mittal steel, went there this week and waited 2 hours to scale out...wtf is up with that?

Takes me a minimum of 3 hours to get unloaded out at sparrows point, its now an RG Steel, formerly Bethlehem....

I'm starting to see a pattern here.

I'm not really a fan of AK steel's either, I like Allegheny's, always fast.

I got there last tuesday at 7AM. Had 15 trucks ahead of me at the 160" plate mill, and about 100 trucks ahead of me at the outbound scale. They are BOOMING with production is all. Lots of orders going out, which is great for my area and all my friends who work there.... not si great for us to have to wait in line, but that is how it's always been here in the steel mills. I can rememebr waiting for 6-7 hours just to get loaded when I was a kid with my dad in the 80's. Just be glad it isn't like that anymore!!!

Yeah I heard that, all of our customer freight goes to melt shops, so I dont usually haul out of the mills directly (If I haul steel its usually from warehouses).

I didnt think I had to scale, the stuff I haul is pre-weighed and I usually don't scale in or out, but....Burns Harbor made me.

    Huh?

Nothings stopping me from going anywhere bud, I'm in a different mill almost every day, usually delivering to them.

speaking of, going to Mittal in Cleveland Tommorow.

    P.S.
Untwist your panties there honcho, they must be cutting off some circulation, because your post is nearly incomprehensible. I made this thread simply to see if everyone else that also frequents Ex-Bethlehem Steel facilities has the same problems I do with ending up sitting around alot. I don't know about you but I make my money out on the road, not sitting at truck stops, steel mills or anywhere else...

Make the switch to hourly and you will find it much easier to enjoy all aspects of the job, even stopping to get fuel at a Pilot becomes less of a chore.
