If you want to hustle and work hard, then independent is the way to be. If you need someone else to tell you where to go and what to haul and you just want to drive a truck, then leased is probably better for you. I figure for what a carrier charges to be leased to them, I can keep that revenue and do some of the hard work myself.
MikesTrucking, Dave_in_AZ and jinxutoo001 Thank this. -
Seeing that you bought an 08 Prostar, you might wanna run for someone else first, before you learn some things ))

A plus (one of the few) to leading on to someone is that they may cover some of the expenses that you would otherwise have to post yourself.
Items such as lumpers, tolls, wash outs, pallets, permits, scales, pre pass, EZ Pass, etc. Another huge factor is fuel discounts thru a carrier. Some even pay bonuses.
Those items add up quickly. What you need to determine is if whether a lower rate is worth the offset of a higher rate and you paying for those items.MikesTrucking Thanks this. -
What is the flat rate they are offering?
Do they give YOU the discounted fuel price, or do you pay full price and they put the difference in their pocket?MikesTrucking Thanks this. -
1.12$ loaded and empty all miles payLepton1 Thanks this.
