I graduated from two truck driving schools. The first one was southern driving academy,in Jackson,Miss. They were a fly by night school. And never did place me.I then graduated from MSCARRIERS School.I went on the road for a while.I have about 5 years experience.I still have my class A with some endorsements.I have never in my 30 plus years of driving had a moving violation or accident.I have no criminal record.Ive been off the road for about 5 years.I am having difficulty getting another driving job.Because Ive been off the road for that long.Companies insurance companies wont touch me.Any advice would be helpful.I dont want Swift. To me they are the worst of the worst.I cant afford a refresher course.I am still a good driver. And can still get a load there on time.Any suggestions?

If you would consider flatbeds then..

    Maverick?

They seem willing to take drivers who don't have recent experience. This is based on my conversation with one of their recruiters and also the reports of drivers on this board.

Small carriers will have more leeway then the big ones do with their insurance companies. The ins co's are the ones behind this. Maybe find an O/O that needs a co-driver that'll take you on.
