I have driven for both TMC and Schneider. TMC is a great company if flatbed is what you want to do. They are purchasing new trucks and will be running elogs when the trucks come in. I recently left Schneider because I was going broke driving for them. There are bills we can't pay due to working for Schneider. They tell you that you will get 2500 to 2800 miles a week. My average mileage with them was 1500 a week. At .28 cents a mile you can do the math. I finally got my dispatcher to tell me the reason as to why I nor A LOT of other people I talked to weren't getting miles or loads. He said they simply have way too many drivers and not enough freight to give them. I talked to people who have been there for 5+ years and they are going through the same thing. They say they are also getting 3000 to 5000 new trucks. Me and everyone else in my orientation class was stuck with 2006 to 2007 trucks with 900,000+ miles and oil leaks as big as a Frisbee. And were made to drive them. A couple of weeks ago I got around 1000 miles for a week. With the excuse of no freight being in Atlanta, Detroit and Chicago. Maybe this is just my experience with them but with as many drivers as I spoke with, I doubt that it was just me. Good luck all.
Between these companies which on is recomended? SWIFT or FFE,CR ENGLAND

Went to a CDL SCHOOL today to get all my information on starting school. A TransAM guy came by and told about that company.. Very low training pay.lol... I have decided to try to get a pre-hire letter from US XPRESS,TMC, and Rosedale Transport. Whats the advice on my choices? I feel TMC best suits me if I can make a decent pay check.

My first pay check after training at TMC was $850 bring home. 2nd was $750. The average I think was somewhere around 600 to 700 a week if not higher. Great company with great equipment IF flatbed is what you want to do.
Sam Hell Thanks this. -
Transam has nice automatic equipment, but pay seems extremely low and home time less than most companies.
How about Millis Transfer? They will train you for $500.00 out of pocket cost; The contract is only 1 year, and I hear good things about them.
Of course, I have no experience, but have done lots of homework. If I had the choice, I'd go w/ Roehl (they have a great training school too, and run many fleet divisions, incl. flatbed), Schneider, Conway (you can attend Crowder college TDS at a great discount through Conway and have no contract). Millis Transfer seems like a good company, starting pay higher than most, but they only hire drivers who go to their school. I.E, your sage certificate will not be honoured.
Goodluck... -
i whave been with all three cpompanies and the one i would sugest is ffe they are a good company

CRE is, in my polite opinion, the Wolf you are referring too.
DO EVERYTHING YOU CAN TO STAY AWAY FROM C.R. ENGLAND - THEY ARE A PUPPY MILL FOR WANNABEES (AND THEY DON'T HAVE A GOOD SCHOOL) -
Was that clear enough?

Yes, it was, and thank you for sharing. I have heard other bad stuff about them, but this about sums it up!
