There is no lowering anything. All they need to do is let you sit.

You complain after a day or so. Then get nasty with dispatcher after a week, then fired for cause.

No one needs to do anything in particular. Trucking is by itself in labor. In fact excluded from all other Labor types since about 1934 particularly in 70 hour workweek and no overtime pay.

Sometimes Ive been paid in other things besides money. And it's been wonderful running around the USA. Unfortunately this entire economy requires money and so... there it is. In several winters past we learend of a family who would have no heat and have gone through the last tree to do it with winter coming. We usually but not always had dried wood piled ready to go give them. Our land was very good in trees. Cost us nothing but a little time and work to make a family with children warm for at least a winter. (Which means they can also make hot water and eat.) Where we are here in the south it is worth alot to be able to help someone or a family when they need it and it's possible to do so.

Nothing wrong with helping someone in need , yes sir !!! And it's true trucking is a horse of another color as far as labor laws go
Most drivers make a big mistake by opening their mouths at the wrong time and end up putting themselves in a bad position - desperate for the next the next job , which can lead to finding another bad job to put on their job history section of the next ap and the next ap and so on

Sometimes it's best to keep everything under your hat while you look for the back door

I knew a driver who put a whole fleet of 60 trucks down with a couple bags of tobacco in the tanks one night because the company was stealing his money
The company lost the account and we all lost our jobs because this hot head wanted revenge and he got it , alot depends on how someone is raised, i guess

Sabotage is something I am familiar with in trucking and frankly I frown upon it. However I am not surprised. If it is a big mouth that would be me. However that was improved years later in that time. (Thankfully.) one thing that never stopped however is every driver has a folder in a desk, inside that folder goes little and big bad things and whoops. When it gets thick enough they pull the folder out, roast and then fire you. Usually you have forgotten some of the minor problems. But the company sure does not. And they wonder why they need drivers.

The worst thing I was involved in was a stupid minor amount of payroll that was needed one week and the company refused it. It was such a minor amount. However being with a small bank and three states away, other financing was not possible that day so the entire upcoming workweek was essentially impossible.

I turned in the trailer (Loaded) into a truckstop legally and signed it in by location etc to qualcomm which made it official. Went home bobtail. The interesting part of that trip was a series of questions from big management as to why this is going down the way it was that morning. It's over a small amount of money that was supposed to be against a adequate payroll that week. (Less than 50 actually, total available would have been several hundred)

The result losses to the company for several days it took them to get trailer delivered (Repowering) was that the plant had to close. This I heard on the birdie. It was a major assembly plant and frankly the tires loaded in NC had to be there that morning JIT (Just in time) or they have to stop. And so it came to pass. It was a bad day all around. And frankly for that kind of small money it should have never happened. Turned into really big losses.

Angry drivers in the yard who have been fired are some of the most dangerous loss sources if they were not escorted off the property properly. They can do so much damage in a short time. Im not sure about the state by state laws related to that but usually stabatoueers (Spelling) do not get unemployment etc.

I know several guys who work for them. They are not a bottom feeder company. They are a company that eats two feet off the bottom. If you can't work for them you can't work for anybody. Know one guy who runs over the road hauling food grade tanker. Out three weeks. Says it's fine. Not a fireball and fine is good for him

Know a guy works there part time hauling animal feed to farms. Said its like a day off from doing food service.

Know another guy who quit there and hatted the job. He hates all of this jobs and leaves them after a six months. He is stupid and loud. Dangers combination.

One of the best flatbed guys I know worked there on weekends when he didn't have his kids for extra money.

    It's nothing special.

    Lonesome Thanks this.
