Of course there's a driver shortage, companies find more reasons not to hire drivers.I think more are disqualified then hired which explains why 2 orientations a week and many times only a handfull attend orientation. As long as companies keep finding things wrong and really its a silly thing or fire drivers and not treating drivers with respect there will always be a driver shortage.

No there isn't a driver shortage...what there really is a shortage of great who aren't going to tolerate being treated like a piece of trash from a lot of these bottom feeder outfits...
The good thing is...you keep your csa & driving record clean & unblemished, you won't have to worry abou these bottom feeder co's because you'll be able to go with he best co's around who k ow how to treat & take care of their drivers like a true professional should be taken care of...
With me..if a co treats me with utmost respect, I will tend to bend over backwards when they need me for something because I know I will b appreciated for it...as far as a bad co is concerned..if they treat me like garbage..well, they won't get squat from me except here's your keys..good riddance!BigMuthaTrucka Thanks this. -
After chesters romney england took away the "easy-pre" pass program because of a negative csa percentage. I was one of the few lucky people who were chosen to not need a hair screen, about 100% of the hair follicle tests come back with 1 to 5.6 positives. I was worried when i saw the transexual took my urine sample mixed a few things in and had me sign 3 papers and 2 different spots on each paper. My blood pressure was nearly 160/200 diastolic pressure because I knew that my wy.dot/ happy udot medical card was at risk or a refusal test would be put down. I really enjoyed that $35.00^3x7000% for sales tax being taken out of my paycheck the next twodays. I was also concerned when my fuel card stopped working the next day. My driver code was MCHAMNUGGETS so I knew that it was a little excessive driver code to be entering in each time, but my DM would always forget the s at the end and put a z. It was very fun to call after hours every night trying to get ahold of the next available corporate employee who was in a hurry to answer the next qualcomm message and then answer 5 calls at the same time.
At first I was worried that I would have a challenged time running my business with Dan E. he said that I could be a phase 2 trainer though. The only problem was I drove the volvo 699/day plan which was an automatic. The horizon sales gui, bob e.da builder must have forgotten to remind me that BEFORE i signed the 3 year lease. [emphasis added] I really loved hearing how well the lane management system actually worked hard to help my business, it would beep 3-4 times in my lane per each minute in wy.dot/u..dot[ards]. Cre even added a brand new psycho-olgoyiest that costed about $500.00/hour x 7.0000% sales tax and helped me manage my OVER the road stress. I was worried that I might even have to apply for the workmans compensation program if i was a company driver. I mean ya it was difficult to add the 5 day vacation plan after staying for 5 years as a phase 1 trainer that helped people with an extra chromosome learn ingles or teach immigrants how to drive in all 5 countries. -
I read the opinions of those who think C.R.E. hasn't a clue how to run a Big truck truckin' company. I respectfully disagree with that assessment. I believe the Sons-0-Chester have devised a way of conducting business that provides a profit for the Company, as well as providing amusing entertainment for those on high who bask in the powah they've created and bestowed upon themselves. From their lofty perch they dispense disdain and contempt for those below them that they see as inferior and not worthy of any respect or concern for their well-being. One might think that an organization that claims to have the Big truck truckin' industries' best interest at heart would raise Cain with any company exhibiting unethical tendencies. But that doesn't seem to be the case. Case in point, the American Trucking Association elevated Dan England to Chairman. It appears that the methods utilized by the Sons-0-Chester are seen as another approach to turning a profit, albeit at the expense of those they employ.
Those who are considering getting into the industry and are now researching the various possibilities offered by the Big truck truckin' companies might be finding it hard to fathom that all the negativity expressed toward C.R. England is factual. Of those, some will be skeptical enough to ignore the warnings from those who have experienced the C.R.E. adventure. This post is not intended for them. Rather it's for those who would rather not risk losing what they've worked for to an arrogant family of thieves lacking in compassion and overflowing with contempt for others.
For those who wonder what reason/excuse C.R. England has for the disproportionate number of negative reports from those who have been there, done that, and lost the shirt off their back as a result, it's so simple, --- all of those who fail did so due to their "poor work ethics" and that those who fail prefer to "sit in truck stops playing on the internet."
If that's true, it indicates that C.R.E. has a knack for attracting and exploiting those situated betwixt a rock and a hard place who are the most desperate and vulnerable, --- one step away from financial disaster. Be warned folks, --- the hand that the Sons-0-Chester will give y'all, will be a push administered while y'all are balancing at the edge of a high cliff. Remember, it's not the fall that'll get'cha, --- it's the landing, .........

What makes you think that? was it the legal paperwork you signed on the first day? or was it the way the pyscholgists taught the horizon lease ur business class or was it the inbreaded genetically superior engineering department at cre. I mean ya monkeys are very safe and efficient behind the wheel, but in the real world, i would suggest going back to school, or immigrating back to argentina, because at least if you wrok as a pwoformer farmer in the fields in buenos aires de cabeza de locos de argentina you know that turning the reefer to -100f might ruin those cans of baked beans.
I mean ya it was fun to dig a pit for 2.3 million americans and then ruin millions more lives over the sake of dan e.d. making lots of millions and lots and lots of people angry. Some people ever realized that they might be overqualified after they say the "filing a false worksmans comp claim" will end your career permanentely. I mean i knew that the lease program had its lack of benefits and negative paychecks, but i wasn't expecting to make millions either.

The best way to assure you have a million bucks in the bank when leased to C.R.E. is to start with two million bucks in the bank.

As a student who's currently halfway through school, I'm pulling weeds the Prospective Employer Garden. CRST is one of those weeds (because slip-seat just doesn't appeal to me), and the other is England. I do not want to be pushed that hard into taking out a lease on a truck!

I do have a pre-hire from Werner, but haven't made a firm decision. If I had the money to go owner-operator straight away, I'd just do that. -
I would drive for a couple of years before going O/O, need to make sure this is the industry for you. Will not know for sure until you had to experience it for awhile.
