OOIDA's insurance is not rated at all. But, they use Lloyd's of London, at least for some of their insurance. They are not a small company. As I recall, Landstar did not have a problem with OOIDA's insurance until OOIDA sued them. Ever since, they have not liked their insurance.

I know a guy who had previously leased to Landstar and decided to go back to them. He was approved and went through orientation. In fact, Landstar even sent his truck numbers and everything that he needed for the truck. Everything was fine until they found out that he had OOIDA insurance. At that point, they decided to rescind their lease agreement and would not offer a reason. From the circumstances, he felt that it was due to the OOIDA insurance. He had a good record with Landstar when he was with them before and had a good work record in between. I don't think that they would even give him a reason for their decision. It did seem very odd. Landstar does a very thorough background check before sending any owner operator or driver to orientation. I know that from personal experience. I don't remember if the lawsuit was still going on during this event or if it had been settled, but it seems much too coincidental. Supposedly, Landstar and OOIDA have settled their differences, but Landstar will still not accept their insurance. Landstar has some peculiar wording on any unladen liability policy that they will accept. Not every insurance company will go along with their wording. That is why Gallagher covers most of their BCO's. Landstar is the only carrier that I know of that requires unladen liability instead of bobtail. I don't recall the differences, but they are minor, as I recall. It is the wording of their policy that most insurance companies have a problem.landstar8891 Thanks this. -
I spoke with OOIDA last week and there are like 15 or so places that will NOT accept OOIDA INS...Landstar is on the TOP OF THE LIST...WHY.?...
OOIDA fights against the RICH SCUM in this country screwing the little guy, therefore they do not like OOIDA.Not to mention OOIDA sued Landstar...
It is more Spiteful than anything else... -
Define RICH SCUM.
Do you meant the ones in Washington who screw us everyday?
Or our customers? The ones we depend on, to keep us moving.
Second, I have run into more POOR scum, than i have Rich scum.
Most of the very wealthy people, I have meet are incredibly nice people.
Its the very few that always seem to ruin it for the rest.
So keep that in the back of your mind, driver, when you make blanket statements. -
I have alot to do around the house..I would love to ''debate'' with you MisterG but i will look forward to your negative comments tonight..
RICH SCUM = LANDSTAR Fellas on the top...
RICH SCUM = Your elected officials
RICH SCUM= The owners of the Bottom Feeder Companies getting dumbed down Rookies for .23 cents a mile then abusing the snot out of them...
I wish these SCUM would let go of some of the money and let it go to the smaller guys... -

Management/Ownership abuse of labor is nothing new, and will not end for all of your railing about it. It's for those of us who have awakened to the realization of this, and who have bettered ourselves in spite of it to achieve better things for ourselves. You can only show the downtrodden the path... it's for them to step out of the chain-gang line, and take the path to self-betterment.
As pops used to say, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.Last edited: Sep 29, 2013

Also, what I'm seeing here is that your incredibly jealous of people who made wise choices and invested properly.
Otherwise, you would likely be one of he RICH people of which you bellyache like a little girl. Had you also made similar choices.
They invested their own money, many thousands of dollars per driver, for the return that they receive.
What have you invested?
How much do you risk in capital everyday?
Certainly, not nearly what they do, I guarantee that.
You deserve no more than you agreed to work for.
If you desire more, then you need to invest and sacrifice as they did, to EARN that reward.
I know, you earned what you made. I don't doubt that.
But to think that you deserve to be their equal is preposterous. You haven't invested and risked what they did and do to even begin to think that you're on their level. Until you do risk that amount? You won't get there.
