Tractor trailer....once 40 miles east of Fort Stockton Texas to Fort Stockton Texas

and once in Ellensburg Washington to Yakima Washington but only the tractor because in the state of Washington is is illegal for tow trucks to tow truck and trailer on the same tow

    ...FACTS!

Yeah around here we only had 2 that could tow. And we couldn’t allow for tow trucks to come from out of our areas unless there was no tie up in traffic. If that’s the case they could call whoever. Our job was to clear the road as quickly as possible. Back when just to crank up the truck was pretty high. But when there is no competition it got expensive quick.

I know that the trucks are expensive but these guys make so much money from Government, State, County & City contracts from tows to recovery operations as well as normal tows....these guys are never out of work and in fact they are on call 24 hours a day that dont even adhere to normal truck driving driving time constraints like normal drivers do.

my trailer busted in half from probably fractures in the welds underneath where the ribs are on the interstate 40 west 20 miles before Gallup New Mexico several years ago.

I had picked up a load of bagged peanuts in Oklahoma, scaled at a cat scale and performed a perfect pre-trip....anyways it cracked in transit and I was able to pull it off the highway into the emergency lane on the right hand side.

A stupid New Mexico state trooper told me that I have must have done something to cause this....didn't even thank me for pulling it off the highway and causing a SIG alert

He gave me a $500.00 ticket for over weight even after I showed him the cat scale ticket...I was so pissed with that Idiot.

Anyways I'm telling you this because the next day a tow company came out with a bone crusher and one of their dry vans and we offloaded the freight into the trailer. It took a little under 3 hours.

I grabbed another trailer we rented and transferred my freight from theirs to my new trailer and I made the delivery in California and no claim was made

At the end of the day the total cost was over $10,000 for basically a total of 5 hours work for everything.....and im just one incident....im sure they do this all day long with even worse circumstances that pay a hell of a lot more Screenshot_20211230-113313_Dropbox.jpg Screenshot_20211230-113246_Dropbox.jpg Screenshot_20211230-113354_Dropbox.jpg Screenshot_20211230-113409_Dropbox.jpg Screenshot_20211230-113440_Dropbox.jpg Screenshot_20211230-113500_Dropbox.jpg Screenshot_20211230-113517_Dropbox.jpg Screenshot_20211230-113547_Dropbox.jpg Screenshot_20211230-113313_Dropbox.jpg Screenshot_20211230-113246_Dropbox.jpg Screenshot_20211230-113354_Dropbox.jpg Screenshot_20211230-113409_Dropbox.jpg Screenshot_20211230-113440_Dropbox.jpg Screenshot_20211230-113500_Dropbox.jpg Screenshot_20211230-113517_Dropbox.jpg Screenshot_20211230-113547_Dropbox.jpg

I luv guys who think thats a simple 5 hour job. You should by your own equipment.

That's 5 hours per employee, per piece of equipment to take care of your improperly maintain trailer. They don't just break driving around.

I have been out of the towing industry almost 10 years. I see 6,000 with your pics and descriptions. I know there is more labor involved than your perspective. 10k is not unreasonable. Could have taken each sack out the top with a rotator at 750.00 per hour. Add storage and disposal of trailer, cross dock. Guessing you weren't insured and probably dumped the trailer on them not paying storage. Took them 6 months to get a salvage title and get it out of thier property. Even if you didn't, its built into the price because so many don't pay for salvage. Even insurance company dump stuff on towing companies.

Should just be thankful no one was killed.

Did you guys hide your Garage or On Hook Insurance on different policy then your normal General Liability Policy? wondering if this is standard practice ?

No we didn't. I managed a company who started in 1927. 5 mill per unit was are coverage. All under the same name, one owner. If your a solo owner it dont matter much. But in this day and age. Most will operate towing and shop separately. I would and recommend it in today's world.
