Beware of this truck stop menace (it's nation-wide!)

I always ask for a shower when there is a line.threatning to pee onmyself if they dont usually works

 

The buses are almost always stopped at the Loves Exit 144 south bound I-35. Every time one or more of those buses headed for the border stops there it turns into Walmart on Christmas Eve.

 

I kinda like when they pull in with the cheerleading squad.

I usually see the senior citizen's group. Ever get behind a senior citizen and you're trying to make a dash for the restrooms??

Back in the 80s I was driving for NAVL had a brand new clone I just had it washed stopped in a rest area for a 10/100 and came back out to find a busload of Asians taking turns getting there pictures made with my truck. I was so entertained I just waited about an hour for them to finish.

 

The reigning king of the bus menace has to be the charter tours for old folks.

I've got nothing against the elderly, and nothing against tours, but man...when a herd of the respected & aged descend on a facility, they do it in slow motion.

It's a little like those bad dreams where you're trying to run from something but can't move your legs...except you're trying to run to something.

 

RVs, and pickup trucks with little 12 foot utility trailers....Especially bugs me at rest areas, where the car parking lot is always an empty 40 acre field, but the truck side is full....I dont know how many times Ive thought I saw a spot at a rest area where I could pull in and take a nap, only to find that theres a small RV or pickup with a utility trailer parked there...

Did these people want to be truckers and not make the cut???



And about the grayhound bus thing....I remember once at the Love in Gallup, NM (I think its a Loves...Its been a while) 2 big buses stopped and a whole schoolyard of 13 year old girls got off and ran into the truck stop. It was the loudest Ive ever heard a truck stop. There had to be 100 of them.
