After driving for them with a spotless safety and delivery record and dealing with a truck that broke down every week, not only did they manufacture a reason to get rid of me they have now screwed me over on my DAC Report.

I recently applied to a national company and they said they would hire me if it weren't for a certain black mark on my DAC report. That black mark was from "Total Transportation" of Jackson, MS. The black mark reads "fired for not following company procedure."

When hired by Total Transportation I was given a truck that kept eating fan belts and one road call and three seperate company shop visits later they finally figured out that the truck had been in an accident. (stellar job eh?) Once that problem was fixed the air pressure kept losing pressure while driving so that the pressure gauge would drop and the light would come on and the pressure would rise back up and this would go on and on. Three more visits (at least) later I had had enough so I was in Jackson, MS and took all my stuff out of the truck and paid for my own motel room and was to meet with John Stomps (CEO) the next day. I met with Tony Wallace (VP of Operations) and he said to me, "Why have you got your stuff?" (he had no idea I had turned in my truck the previous day.) I told him I was not getting back in that truck. I had joined Total in November of 2014 and this was February 2015. He scrambled to find me a truck. He got on his phone and said to the guy on the other end, "I need a truck like a dead man needs a casket." I told him I was promised a new truck by Tim my terminal manager previous and then renigged on. He finally came up with one and told me, "I'm going to get you a ride with a driver who will talk your ear off to Loudon, TN. We'll put you up in a motel and you can sleep in till noon." So sure enough I waited around the terminal all day then the driver showed up in the late afternoon and sure enough he had stuff in the bunk so I stayed in the passenger seat having my ear talked off till midnight. The hotel they put me up in in Loudon is nice except after I arrived there at midnight around two in the morning I went to go to the bathroom at 2am the toilet backed up. The hotel offerred to switch rooms but I was so tired I stayed in the room.

Around 9am the phone rang and it was the front desk telling me my ride was there and I told the person I had permission by Tony Wallace to sleep in till noon. I went back to sleep. At noon I went down to the front desk and the local terminal guy was standing at the front desk talking trash about me to the front desk person who was only glad to join in when this husband/wife driver team joined in to fray in spite of me telling them it was none of their business. The husband continued to harrange me which led to his threatening physical violence to which I called the police. The police showed up and heard my complaint and decided to give me a ride to the terminal. Before that the the husband told me "You'll be fired before the day is through."

While at the terminal I waited outside while a cleaning guy was cleaning my new truck and was called into the terminal office. I was told my relationship with Total was being terminated and among things I was being accused of swearing at the terminal window guy. (figure that one out.) I left a message on Tony Wallace's voice mail in the presence of these people telling him I did no such thing and called a cab, went to the local airport where I paid for my own motel room then rented a car to get home to Florida.

It's bad enough when people in your orientation class all get new trucks while you languish with a broken one and to be promised a new one and have it not materialize and the ultimate trifecta is to go through all this crap and now have it affect future employment. I called Tony Wallace and John Stomps to tell them to remove that libelous mark on my DAC report and they wouldn't even return my messages. All that mark does his hurt me, it has no effect on them. I did not earn that mark and I did not violate any company procedure... BEWARE!!

So you got 9 hours of sleep but wanted 12? Thats all I need to know. Honestly, I'm thinking the company is coming out looking better then you after reading this. Good luck in your next endeavor.

    Dispute the dac report ....
The company has to have proof that you broke their policy so what policy did you break?
You need to harass the heck out of them on this and make them provide proof

I have already disputed the mark on my DAC. The dispute is just that the "dispute." I called both John Stomps and Tony Wallace multiple times and even talked with a Lawyer. Lawsuits cost money. Let's say DAC tells them to provide proof... Do you think a company like this has the ability to make stuff up????

Ya after being up from 7am till midnight the previous day and being told to sleep in till noon was not a problem. I was ready to go. I did not count on an onslaught of attacks. By the way I think you meant to say "honestly."

Thanks for the supportive reply. Can you share with me what steps you took, what the issue was about and how you went about getting the desired results? There has been no greater joy in my life than driving around the country and experiencing the challenge and diversity of "Over The Road" trucking. I remember the S### eating grin I had when I was first solo qualified and driving an "ungoverned" owner/operator beautiful Freightliner 13 speed. One time driving 720 legal miles in a single shift. Nothing finer!!

I wrote them a letter on behalf of all drivers
Explaining why their wording made it sound like I a had an accident and that they should change their format because they were hurting Alot of drivers
After a few months I had a lawyer contact me asking me to sign some paperwork and join the a class action lawsuit against hire right ..... We won the case , I was sent a check for $154 , not much $ but not bad for writing a letter
