Wel started off good but after first 2-3 months the scam comes in, customers and the job are perfectly fine but then yoh find they start planning you on loads with no spare time, meaning you hit traffic ir weather youre going to be late or even loads with not enough time to actually make it there unless you're a team truck/trainer and even "go pick this trailer up" to find their planning had already rescheduled the load for 3 days later and big suprise you're now late on pickup and you're getting your pay cut, you refuse? Pay gets cut. You tell them of any delays late loading etc? Pay gets cut. Stuck in weather or flash flood? Your pays gonna get cut their weekly garuntee means 0 because they're going to make up every excuse to not give it to you, don't be early and park at the customer, because why? Oh you didn't move that day so your pay is getting cut despite being early
They'll blame customers as the reason shorting you, they'll blame a passenger as the reason shorting you, they'll randomly wait a day on the load just to short you if they can't find another reason that week and that's just what I've heard between myself and a few other drivers. Owner ops told me they'll give you random fees of $200-$300+ on loads, schedule and broker issues and fake rates then hand you a different amount
You have to call their payroll department every week to get your paycheck and they've even tried to not pay me
Reccomendation for anyone going there or planning to lease/owner op there keep a lawyer on speed dial who will be able to handle needs, I've had to get a lawyer to send them a letter or handle other buissiness many times. You can't profit with this company whatsoever
Worst company I've worked for honestly and don't see how they can keep drivers with their behavior, they're splitting the company up into different departments as of recently as entirely different companies to mitigate liability
Beware of any who go there
Beware of WEL companies

You had to hire a lawyer many times to handle payroll issues in the 3 whole months you've been there? Why didn't you leave the very first time your check was short?TB John, Puppage and Suspect Zero Thank this.
-
I'd of left but I needed to save money to get my hazmat endorsement which still haven't been able to save for (I've managed to save maybe $100 since I've been trying to leave for 3+ months now been with them much longer) couldn't afford to quit, i got bills to pay and nothing was better, the food grade tanker companies are a scam, and hazmat is the only other option, as Is I'm probably gonna have to go to some random trucking company i might stay with 3 months and leave once I can actually get money
-
all food grade tankers are scam??
give us a general location and we might be able to hook you upSirscrapntruckalot, TB John, Lonesome and 2 others Thank this. -
Central Florida, ive worked for everyone except Indian river who's in florida(that I'm aware has a terminal near) and they kinda scare me despite having connections there who say otherwise I want to try it because I trust the people but my gut is telling me to avoid em
If there was a company outside florida that would cover my parking or someone new i ain't tried yet I would but as good as the treatment was I just always wanted more moneyNumb Thanks this. -
But you had money to pay a lawyer many times? Sorry, not buying it. Wel is a reputable carrier.Trucker61016, Northern Nomad, TexasRiverRat and 5 others Thank this.
-
You have worked for every company in central Florida except Indian River. It sounds like the guy I talked to once who was married and divorced 6 times and was saying there’s no good women out there. When maybe if you’ve failed that many times the problem is most likely you not the others you want to blame.PS if you want to save money maybe stop paying lawyers for problems that you should be able to solve
FullMetalJacket, bryan21384 and Gomer1969 Thank this. -
Dirt cheap to have a lawyer send a letter ir interact over employment cases, ever heard of NELA?Lonesome Thanks this.
-
Not my fault an employer thinks they have the right to attempt to pay me half or even 0, also NELA exists, you can get a lawyer pretty cheap for employment disputes
And not to mention mostly every carrier in florida is cut rate, or trying to rob drivers who operate florida with a lower pay. It's a bad state there's a reason I'm trying to get out -
To each there own I’ve done this along time worked in Florida I’ve never had to pay any attorney anything for a pay issue with a employer or all the drivers I’ve personally known that had to.Just reading your post you make yourself sound as the constant victim. Not sure how much a employment attorney can help you with a LP operated at WEL where you are not an employee you’re a contractorFullMetalJacket Thanks this.
