Toyota supposedly has designed a new engine that changes everything. I’m sure everyone will copy it as always. I reluctantly admit they are the best. They’ve been the best since early 80’s. Technology, quality control, manufacturing efficiency, they’re ahead of everyone. They invest twice as much as American companies into R&D. They lead innovation.

Just too bad they still can't figure out how to build a V8 that can get better fuel mileage than an American V8 from the 90s

When I was a kid, family friend had an electric lawn mower. Everyone had negative comments about it. He’d flip the cord, sometimes have to repair it. Kept that thing for 20 years or more. When I bought a place, got one for $20 at a garage sale. Sold it 6 years later for $20. The new battery powered ones look good. First ones were too heavy. I might get one. Though my Huskavana with Briggs & Stratton has lasted 13 years. Original spark plug, clean air filter each spring, needs a shot of ether, brake kleen, WD 40, whatever’s handy, for the first spring start up. Only changed oil once. Getting ready to fire it up today. Might put the new plug I bought several years ago in, and change oil this year. Lol. They’re so cheap, hardly worth my time to maintain it. Usually the steel body rusts out. Huskavana has thicker gauge steel, and supposedly made in America. Hard to beat the value.

I'm too cynical I guess... I can't even wish Bezos success. I feel like I've seen this play out before.

I DO think about that. No I don’t lose sleep over it. However, I do wonder how things might be, living in a pro-bicycle country/community.

I’m not coming at you; just stating facts. Likewise, I’m driving a 19yr-old vehicle. However, the idea of daily driving a Model T is the ICE vehicle that interests me. It’s as minimal as it gets and would easily fulfill my current needs.

Supposedly the truck will be able to utilize the tesla supercharger network which would be able to fully charge in about 15 minutes..
this is the one thing that has always kept me from switching to ev is the charge time.. It takes 5 minutes to fill up fuel. I don't wanna hang out at some gas station for 30+ minutes in arizona in the blazing the sun sitting in a blazing hot car waiting to be charged

I don't think I've ever seen a Tesla charging station yet.

There are plenty of them in the northeast, specifically along I-95 from Connecticut to Maine at the service areas.

I think that even at $25k it’s too much for what you get. I’d rather buy an older ranger or a 2wd Tacoma and be money ahead But that’s just me
