They pay real late in the evening when everything is closed and I haven’t received my pay from last week I quit because dispatcher was very unprofessional told me they’re going to mess with my cdl and that he gone make sure I never drive again told me I had to drive two weeks straight before I could leave the company then said I would be a restaurant worker who would fix his food because my cdl is going to be messed up

Why did he tell you all of that? All that over not driving 2 weeks?

"They pay real late in the evening when everything is closed and I haven’t received my pay from last week."
    • #1 reason why I've always done direct deposit. Even when everything is closed, I still got my paycheck regardless. Did you quit before you could collect that pay? If so, they have at least 45 days to get you your money or you can get them in serious trouble. At least that's how I received my pay from the ####cago company I was driving for. They tried this, and I told them my lawyer would be in touch along with the Labor Board.
"I quit because dispatcher was very unprofessional told me they’re going to mess with my cdl and that he gone make sure I never drive again."
    • I've dealt with this many times. Rude dispatchers are everywhere you go man. From my experience, you can be the most professional driver on the phone and do everything asked of you, but it only takes one dispatcher having a bad day for it to fall apart. I get it. Running a fleet of trucks can be tough, but don't take your frustrations out on me. Also, record all phone calls. I had one try this with me in my final OTR job and I recorded everything that was said to me and kept it. I told him that he'd be gone before I would and I was right. They can't do anything to your CDL unless you're doing something illegal. Only DOT can pull your CDL.
"I had to drive two weeks straight before I could leave the company."
    • No... You... Don't! When I quit Vista in 2023, they didn't even know I quit. When my last dispatcher abandoned me in a shopping center parking lot in West Virgina on a Friday, I was taking their truck back to the terminal on Saturday evening and on a plane home Sunday morning. By the time they realized what happened, I'd already had a new job and moved on. Sure they called and threatened me with all kinds of stuff as if I were still an employee. They even tried to hold my final paycheck beyond the 45 day limit until I did the aforementioned action in my first point. Companies won't give a two week notice when they want to fire your ###, so why give them a two weeks notice when you plan to leave them? As my mother used to say: "Never let your left hand know what your right hand is doing."
"then said I would be a restaurant worker who would fix his food because my cdl is going to be messed up."
    • If you believe that malarkey, I have some beachfront property in Vegas, the deed to the Eiffel Tower and the schematics to the Golden Gate Bridge to sell you. Unless your MVR is complete ####, you can work anywhere with a CDL. This is why we never put any stock into any threats or promises made by companies from Ill-annoyings.

With Direct Deposit, late in the evening doesn't matter.

    Voodoo Pyg Thanks this.

Oh yeah. That's right on the money. I wouldn't take a truck job that wouldn't allow me to do direct deposit.

    Lonesome Thanks this.
