What you need is the correct engine mount for the Cummins that is for that exact model and year truck.
So when I put my big cam into my FLD 120, I had to get the correct mounts that the Cummins engine used which was the n14 because that was the Cummins at that time, same block Etc, but I had to get those mounts that are specific for an fld 120 with a Cummins n14 engine.
If you do that, then those mounts will fit right into what you have on the frame.
I do not think that you can take the caterpillar motor mounts and just put them on the Cummins. I honestly do not know because I've never swapped anything with a caterpillar but the mounts on the bell housing of the transmission or however your rear mounts are set up may not be in the exact same location. That means that when the mount is bolted onto the engine it may actually sit in a higher spot or lower and you'll see that the mount is made differently.
With that being said they may be the same thing I do not know. I can only tell you that from the series 60 that was a completely totally different situation and those mounts in no way could be used.
The front mount itself may be the same. I can tell you that the front mount on the big cam 3 is identical to the front mount that is on the n14 that goes into that FLD 120. It's the exact same mount so it's possible the front may be more Universal.
But you want to make sure you have exactly the right mounts on the rear of the engine because that's going to control the angle of the engine and your Driveline angle. I don't know for sure but I would guess 95% certain that the location of the mounts on the frame are the same between the Cummins and the caterpillar. But like I said you need the correct mounts for the Cummins that are for that year and model truck.
And don't forget you need the correct fan setup that the Cummins had on it with that year truck. The older trucks may possibly be a little more Universal I do not know, but I've spent quite a bit of time in the Horton catalog and there is a staggering number of different fan setups that are just different because they fit differently in different trucks.

05-15272L and 05-15272R are the part numbers off my build sheet. Google doesn't come back with anything for many of those old parts numbers but you can call Vanderhaags or LKQ and they might look for them. Not sure if the mounts were different between Pete and KWAdisiwaya Thanks this. -
I think everyones confused. He doesn’t want to use the Cat mounts for the cummins. He’s concerned the Cummins mounts won’t fit the frame the cat was in right? He has the right mounts for the swap already bolted to the engine. He just needs to get them bolted to the frame. Right? Easy. Punching new holes if need be. That has been done a thousand times over. No problem.
Before the Cummins is removed from the donor frame measure all the angles and distances as it sits and copy that on the swap in frame. -
Another thing you can do to help with fitment is after the cummins and its mounts have been pulled is trace the witness marks on that frame and make a template gauge to lay on the inside of frame rails to check or remark the location on the swap in.

Witness marks is another old school engineers term for scars, scrapes, indentions, or any other mark left behind from one part touching another part. The rust or dirt mark or original or different color paint between the mount and rail would be witness to what was there..

Anyone have a weight of a big cam 3 400? Trying find it online and have no luck with how much full engine weighs

They average around 2630 lbs. when complete. You are gonna need something rated for at least 2 tons to safely pull it out. I pull them out with trans still connected with a little 3800lb. Forklift and with them chained close to the end of the forks puts that machine on its toes.
