I put a big cam in a 95 Freightliner. I am just finishing it up now.
You've got the right idea. They can take all that electronic junk and stick it. Big cam is the best.
There is too much for me to just write it out.
Whatever specific questions you have you can p.m. me.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Not sure what you guys are afraid of. As far as electronics go, the pre2000 engines are dead ### reliable and easy to fix. The new stuff is another story and I get that .
spsauerland and pushbroom Thank this. -
Hi lyle,
YEs, if you have an emissions motor like a 2007 and above, It would be illegal to swap the motor to an older non emissions motor unless its a glider. I think 05 and 06 tucks have egrs, so that might be an issue but not s big an issue with 07+ with dpf.
In the case of this guy this truck is a pre 2000 and he can install any motor he wants. Anything up to 2002 is pretty much fair game and nothing illegal abut it.
Swapping engines on an emissions truck that started life wiith emissions per the vin is ilegal. So in that case, you cant put a big cam cummins in a 2007 peterbilt. I mean you can if you want too but technically its illegal. -
