$60K+ per year is achievable if the company has the loads and you are willing to run them. I used to stay out 2-3 months at a time, average over 3,000 miles per week and would never take home less than $1200. This was with Abilene Motor Express.

I'm not currently @ .52cpm, average 3200 to 3500 miles per week, my average is not 600 take home. I'm not going to state my take home because frankly it's nobody's business, but you can make fair money if you stay away from the mills.bottomdumpin and Tombstone69 Thank this.

And most of us go home every night too.
bottomdumpin Thanks this. -
I was just curious,early2000 I ran Fla.out of NJ, Back up to NYC. 1load down, 1load back, under 3k miles 5 days.%rate,2500$ plus 500$ delivery on the backhaul(10-15 stops).Reefer frieght, running 70mph.I'm just amazed at how things are going out there. Thanks for being candid.

2,3 months at a time, you should run household goods, you'd do a lot better.Redtwin Thanks this.

I'm local now, home daily and doing much much worse.Tombstone69 Thanks this.

3000+ miles per week. Deposit over $1100 after taxes every week. I work for a private fleet. It’s not Walmart. Home almost every weekend.

I've never worked for the big carriers, so I wouldn't really know. But I'd imagine they have the work if one wants it.
I get home every morning between 6 and 8, and I leave at 630pm. Running local, no logbooks or elogs to deal with. When we're busy I average roughly 2400 miles in a five day stretch. Over winter sometimes I barely hit 1500 miles. Last year I averaged $1200 gross a week.Tombstone69 Thanks this. -
So who do you work for? Do you like it?
