The real question is did you drive 60 mph down 225 and block the middle lane?

Your not a real container hauler till you slow down all the other trucks on 225.

Mac, you must have caught them on a busy day, never seen them do more than about 50-55 & usually side by side.

My biggest pet peeve about this site is the IGNORE feature. Id wager that a third of the people on this site have never been in a truck and they just go around repeating what they read. If the IGNORE actually cut them totally off, it would be near impossible for a troll to threadjack.

The kid in that thread is my age. Had a couple oversized loads here at system and just thought he was amazing. He'll be the one at iron skillet in 5 years saying he's made a few million but does the job still because he loves it.

I love to see pictures like these. It's the thing that I love. The newness every day. The 'never a dull moment' stuff. The Night Move. Did one a few months back in all of the bridge construction north of Atlanta. Went down I-75, past the I-285 loop, got off next exit flipped around to the next I-75 northbound onramp and lined up. A Georgia HP was sitting there with us. We had to wrong way it onto 285 to get into the site, and HP would do a rolling roadblock while an escort would bring us in the wrong way.
    It never gets old.

You are right about it being a new adventure every day. For this job I got a new toy, my own 3 axle steerable dolly. Man was that thing sweet. No neck to deal with because it was a pintle hitch and does not tie to the beam. Took 6 hours to go 250 miles but it was start the motor, get around the corner, shut the motor off and get on down to the next corner.

On the first beam I thought I was gonna lose the dolly. I was going about 50-55 around a left corner (no need for the motor) and there was nothing that I could do, going the other direction was a s10 blazer that missed the dolly by 6". Granted the dolly was on the zipper but not over it and he had a 12' wide lane. He was so close that he actually broke the dowel on my flag. I hope that it shattered his mirror.

    Oxbow Thanks this.
