I'm guessing you wouldn't use them to load trash compactors. lol

No I most certainly would not...I have a rail for that!
That's probably why I make a much better O/O than company truck guy, I just can't do stuff like that to equipment. Growing up very poor on the farm, we didn't have the funds to fix stupid, so I learned to respect & baby things. If someone told me to load one of the big compactors on their deck, I'd probably get fired because I couldn't deliberately damage something just for the sake of "getting it done". I learned Do it right, or don't do it at all before becoming a teenager.
Not saying I don't screw up because I do, I just try not to make it deliberate...

Well for some reason contractors never seem to have the correct equipment from no crane to cranes that cannot reach us to lift the load. Here is what happened today. The 349 did not have big enough balls to lift the 34k 14' high box off the trailer. We actually had to make a road into the ditch so that I could get the trailer lower for them to pick from.

Excavators don't have much lift up high like that, kinda scary.

LOL.... Yeah I know. As soon as they had it clear I pulled the truck and trailer away from it. I don't care if it falls after my stuff is out of the way. It's their problem then... LOL

It is funny we run into the same issues over here. Contractors always trying to lift products with excavators but they are getting better at hiring cranes since the legislation charged here.

You should have seen us yesterday. Not sure what they were called but they looked like 8"-10" steel pipe sandwiched between a pair of 10'×10' steel crane mats. Our 924 with pipe grapple couldn't lift one so we had to get a 2nd guy with a 12k lb telehandler on the other side to lift it off the deck, then have the truck pull out from under. Super sketchy.

If they had feet for the pipe to mount to, they sound like trench boxes

I'd guess they were solid plate boxes if they were that heavy at 10x10. Most are hollow and even a 924 could lift a 10x10 trench plate

    Oxbow Thanks this.
