I've seen one heavy haul outfit that uses those Army HETT trucks. Can't remember the name.

On pieces longer than 30' we load through the front of the plane. It kneels down, the whole front end swings up and a ramp door lowers. Now depending on the height and/or weight of the piece we'll either back up inside the plane and lift it with the hoists. On pieces that are either too tall to lift internally or too heavy we have skates that either forklifts or a crane will set the load on in front then they use an internal winch to pull the load into the cargo bay.
Somewhere I have some pictures loading long and tall pieces through the front, when I get done with paperwork I'll try to find them. -
I'd like to see those, if you can find them.

Unfortunately the pictures I had of my truck inside the plane were on my last phone that went swimming.

We picked up 5 bridge beams on Friday and delivered them this morning. Had to back a mile down a dirt road to the cranes as there was no place to turn around down there that did not have water in it.
Some of you have seen this but for those that have not ....
This last photo is a picture of the crane crew doing a pick and pass. With no bridge we have no way to get one end of the beam to the other side of the creek. The trailer is located on the right side of the crane. They pick the far side off the trailer and swing that end around, we then back the truck along side the crane and he hands off the other end of the beam to the crane that is over there. He then swings back and picks the end off of the truck and we get out of the way for the next truck to come in. These were little beams at about 80k each.Rollr4872, Big Don, catalinaflyer and 5 others Thank this. -

How do you haul your pup trailer empty?

Seen this in my news feed earlier. Behind it when traffic was being rerouted a crash turned deadly.
