Ya it was a real surprise when I heard a big thud and seen the tire and wheel wobbling on the ground. Customer now has to send another truck with a machine to pick up that tire and load it on another trailer.

I need to hurry up and cut some old straps in pieces and screw to the big blocks so can pick them up easier. And maybe a couple more 8x10's. Should of used 8x10's for under the rear axles and 8x8 under the steer. Now I know for next time.

@Rugerfan lay wood down on ground first then drive center machine and drive up onto wood, place blocks between beam and axle/frame etc of machine, air up suspension and raise trailer off ground, remove wood you drive machine onto and set trailer back to ride height. Something along those lines as this was my first time loading the beam image.jpg

Yea, general rule of thumb. thicker in the back and thinner up front.. Kinda like the black girls with big booties...

Sometimes you also have to chain up the steer axles because the hydraulic suspension will allow the tires to stay on the ground after you pick up the trailer. The 773 I had to move comes to mind.

@skootertrashr6 Nice! I've never worked with a beam trailer but can see the advantages for height & limiting the bounce you get from tires & suspension on that type of equipment. How much clearance did you have on the machines tires & the road?

Well in my case there are several good reasons. She treats me well, feeds me good, likes doing the yard work, is a Macgyver when it comes to fixing things, brings a big paycheck into the mix, is a sex fiend, doesn't throw a hissy fit if I just want to disappear for a few days by myself or with friends, is beautiful & has never given me a bit of doubt about her loyalty.

Oh, and she's easy to shop for when it comes to presents, don't know too many men that can buy their wives a Dremel tool, a socket set or pretty much any other kind of useful tool for gifts & not be in the doghouse over it.

I am a very lucky man!

Nah! When she makes lasagna she always makes a big batch & makes some smaller bricks of it to freeze for later use. Same with her stew, soups & anything else that freezes well. If nothing else, we always have at least 10 pounds of shrimp in the freezer & she can whip up a quick batch of shrimp Alfredo with pasta or some shrimp scampi.

Where it sits right now is at 5 1/4" between ground and machine tires and overall height is right at 13'. Normally with rock trucks I've always been at 14' with a 18" loaded deck height
