Meanwhile he's on the radio telling his buddy about the oversized yellow truck that will be blowing the scale in a little while.

Have had 2 instances in Louisiana scales that just made me shake my head. On the permits it clearly states that you have to pull into the scale & show them your permit/paperwork if they are open.

At the Breaux Bridge I-10 eastbound scale I rolled onto the scale, he gave me the green light, I pulled into a parking spot & walked my paperwork in. The scalemaster chewed me out & said "if I give you a green light don't come in here bothering me with your paperwork".

The DOT officer sitting there followed me out to my truck, looked at my permit then told me that I was correct in coming in. I asked him what I was supposed to do in the future if I got a green light & the scalemaster wanted to give me grief about coming in, his response was, "do what you think or know is right & we will deal with him if need be".

Pretty much the same scenario happened at the I-10 westbound scale coming back into Texas, scalemaster said I didn't have to come in if I got the green light. The DOT man sitting there said they hadn't noticed how tall I was & that if they had & I didn't come in that he would have come & chased me down.

So I would rather tick off the scalemaster than to have the DOT come chase me down.

  9. Had an oversized in SC. Scalemaster shot me a green light. I rolled over and parked brought in paper, got same butt chewing. Wtf. Your ###### if you do and ###### if you don't.

Well, I'm crying Foul here. It's not fair that I had to cross those scales almost all my trucking years and deal with those rubber gloved "procto-inspectors". I think what is goin on here is, you have a cousin or brother working at the scale and you are trying to make us believe you used some type of Jedi mind trick on the scalemaster like this maybe?
Ron: I dont have to cross this scale. I am not the overloaded truck you're looking for. I can pass this scale and be on my way.

Scale guy: You dont have to cross my scale. You can go about your business.
