The Eaton. 1202 2 spd is at 2.04 but for some reason the Allison engineer would not approve the solution, it failed some of their calculated tests. Also, they indicated that the 1202 would not be a shift in motion solution up or down. I have question in to the engineer about the usability of the other 2 ratios on the Spicer 4 spd, just have not heard. I know this is a little out of the box as solutions go but I am either going to love or really hate it if I order it.

I had a Allison 750 DRD with retarder. The Aux was a 1241 C (think the c is right) If you put the Allison in first, the aux in first, you could count the lugs on the drive tires a at 1800, that was how low geared it was with 5.29's, never had aux or rear end problems, but same as the 1202, you could not change the aux when moving.

You know that is true - but I passed on hauling the same machine back out. And then they took the counterweight stick and bucket off to ship back.

My poor rig is a mismatched spec'd truck, 525 cummins, 1850tq, 18spd, 4:30 gearing, 52K Rearends. Lifting off on hills with my current load of 180,000lbs is interesting. I cross my fingers every time. I've had bad luck with lights and trying to keep rolling for them.

Hey Ron. I got a question. What about using something like a spicer D60-590. Those are rated for the gross weight and they are a 2 speed. 4.75 high, 7.30 low.

I have never delt with kind of weight yoyr talkin about, but was curious if 2 speed is an option in your situation.

I was just talking with an old guy running 11 axle that is running that solution and he swears by it. I am
    A little afraid of not
Getting the rears to mesh up in the change and blowing 15-20k

johndeere4020, Oxbow and snowman_w900 Thank this.
