A secured spot like a truckstop? there is the big truckstop near the 80/5 junction. If it works out I'll buy your lunch. But not your dogs................

I would just shorten the boards. Keep all the pieces. The long boards are nice for combines, but are in the way for construction equipment. You won't need the wood to load most things, just make it stable for transport. Also narrow board tend to scoot in or out. They never stay straight. But the shorter boards leave room in front or behind to chain to.

What and where is the restriction that keeps you from coming up 5 all the way? A bridge near Stockton?

    Oxbow and johndeere4020 Thank this.

According to the book I've read probably not but we never had problems using smaller signs when we were doing flatbed. Time will tell on that I guess

There are some orange weight bridges north of Stockton I guess and some concern that height maybe an issue - some 14 9 - and not sure until I load how tall I will be - never hauled one of these before. Sacramento just sucks for over weight - I am likely only on green weights
