I was actually born and raised in Garden City. Grew up there and learned to drive pulling cattle pots running fat cattle into the slaughter houses and moving feeders off pastures into the feed lots.

Bryan's Corner has been exactly the same for at least 30 years.

You grew up in Garden? I lived in Scott City for a couple of years. Got my start there to, hauling grain and equipment. Hauled ma y combines and tractors in and out of American Implement, grain to the co op and wind river (I think that's what it was called) Finney county feeders was one of our big feed lots.

Seems like that area is booming. That ol truck stop at the north side of the bypass gets crowded now. Food is so so, and every waitress in there is rocking the front butt, but you can sit in the restaurant and drink beer, and thats ALWAYS a good thing.

I've always wanted to run a cattle pot. Apparently living in Cali it's almost impossible to find a place to do it

I've done it, won't do it again unless I have no other option. It's not as glamorous as it looks.

I pull a rack but never had cattle in it. Only hogs.
Glamorous? Hmm, no real schedule, might be day loads today and night the next, or 36 hrs on 6 hrs sleep between loads. Sweat like crazy loading and unloading 180 hogs that I have to treat better than a human while being watched to make sure I don't hit them to hard with my plastic paddle. Always smell just a little like poo. And everyone wants to do it so the rates aren't great.

When I get too old to climb around on these OD things I'll go back to pulling a pot.
